Synopsis

Mehdi, 25, is the son of a legendary athlete gone too soon. He makes ends meet cumulating odd jobs to sustain his alcoholic mother struggling with depression, forever grieving the love of her life. Every night, he runs through the maze of concrete, with one goal: to become a champion and escape his destiny.

One day, he learns that the most prominent trainer in the athletic world, but also the most relentless, has just taken over the management of the club in his suburb. For Mehdi, it’s the time to seize his chance. Despite the doom and gloom surrounding him, and fuelled by his passion to become one day the world’s greatest distance runner, he gets selected in the most competitive squad prepping for the Olympics.

The struggles and obstacles he’ll have to overcome will forge his spirit, from the sidewalks of Paris to the red earth of Africa, birthplace of legendary distance runners.
