Manivelle Screens at Clermont-Ferrand’s ‘Le Liban à l’Honneur’

The 47th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival recently celebrated Lebanese cinema through its 'Le Liban à l'Honneur' program, offering an inspiring overview of the nation's storytelling prowess. Among the standout in the lineup was our very own "Manivelle: The Last Days of the Man of Tomorrow” a mockumentary exploring the life of an automaton whose journey reflects Lebanon's own historical trajectory.

Our highlight of the festival was the masterclass by filmmaker Wissam Charaf, who shared invaluable insights into his creative process and the resilience of Lebanese artists amidst adversity. His session was both enlightening and inspiring, shedding light on the unique challenges and triumphs of filmmaking in Lebanon.

It was clear to us that Lebanese cinema continues to push forward, telling stories that resonate both locally and internationally despite the challenges it faces. At Cinemoz and Cinemoz Galaxy, we remain committed to supporting and showcasing Lebanese filmmakers, ensuring their voices reach wider audiences and their work gets the recognition it deserves.
